A statement of claim is the principal procedural document for applying to a commercial (Arbitrazh) court. Requirements as to form and content are set out in Articles 125–126 of the Commercial Procedure Code (APK RF). It is filed at the defendant's location or under contractual jurisdiction, and is accompanied by proof that a copy was sent to the defendant, the document confirming payment of the state fee, and confirmation that the pre-trial procedure (a formal demand) was observed.
